Primary Crushing Area Project
Project Name: Primary Crushing Area Project
Client: Letseng Diamonds (Gem Diamonds)
Location: Letseng Diamond Mine, Lesotho
Full turnkey (LSTK) design and execution of a strategic brownfield project.
The project includes the design, fabrication, supply, installation, and commissioning of a new kimberlite crushing plant to treat 6,745,200 tons per annum of run of mine (ROM). The New Primary Crushing Area (PCA) Project is being constructed in order to replace the existing PCA plant, which has reached the end of its operational life.
The PCA is made up of two interconnected primary crushing modules (PCM's) operating in parallel. Each PCM has a nominal capacity of 550 tph. ROM is fed by articulated truck onto a static grizzly and then into a primary crusher via an apron feeder and vibrating grizzly feeder (VGF). Oversize from the static grizzly is split and broken using a rock breaker. Product from the primary crusher and undersize of the VGF are then fed via a series of conveyors to an existing stockpile for further processing.
