65 tph Lithium Recovery Plant
Developed for an Australian customer who specified a cyclone-rated, fully skid-mounted solution to minimise site works and eliminate the need for cast in-situ concrete, our 65 tph two-stage lithium Dense Media Separation (DMS) plant is ideal for small production volumes or bulk sampling campaigns.
The design combines our decades of experience designing, building and operating DMS plants with our lithium processing expertise resulting in a rapidly deployed solution for lithium recovery or pre-concentration. Our unique solution eliminates the need for on-site poured concrete and is available in sixteen (16) weeks ex-works South Africa.
Plant Feed Material
Crushed lithium-bearing pegmatite (-8 mm).
Description of Plant
The Plant is designed and fabricated to Australian standards and includes the following:
A Two-Stage DMS circuit:
1 x 40 tph Primary DMS module complete with DMS feed preparation screen; and
1 x 15 tph Secondary DMS module.
1 x 5.5 m3 Grizzly Feed Hopper (Feed Bin) complete with a Belt Feeder
1 x 65 tph Desliming Wet Screening Module (cutting at 0.6 mm) complete with wet tailings pump
All plant conveyors - six (6) in total (including DMS feed and stockpile conveyors)
Water reticulation circuit
550 kVA diesel generator.
The Plant incorporates our latest DMS module design with inline screens resulting in a reduced footprint and easier operation. For skid-mounting, the Plant is provided with integrated steel catch sumps.
Plant Footprint
65 x 75 m (excluding plant feed stockpile).
Equipment Vendors
Cyclones: Multotec
Magnetic Separators: Magquip
Vibrating Equipment: Vibramech
Screen Panels: Multotec (polyurethane)
Pumps: Weir Warman
Diesel generator: Volvo Penta.
Electrics & Control
Configured and certified to AS/NZS electrical specifications
PLC control with field-based stop/start panels
2 x MCC panels, mounted on the DMS Modules.
Process Consumables
Make-up water required (TBC) = 168.5 m3/h at 4 bar pressure
Ferrosilicon (FeSi):
First fill = 10.4 t.
First month of operation = 9.6 t.
Power
Electrical load (installed): 350 kW.
Power will be provided by a Consulmet-supplied diesel generator.
Skid-Mounting
The whole Plant is fully skid-mounted, eliminating the need for cast in-situ concrete and minimising site assembly. The Plant is anchored down to resist cyclonic wind loads by the use of pre-cast concrete ballast blocks.
The customer will need to construct a laser-levelled earthworks pad to levels and specifications agreed with Consulmet.
Trial Erection & Site Installation
The full plant will be trial erected in our yard prior to disassembly for shipment. The customer will be invited to witness and sign off the trial erection. Final modifications can be made as part of this process.
A full installation manual will be provided with the Plant to facilitate re-assembly on site. Construction supervision and commissioning is included as standard.
Shipping
The Plant is designed not to exceed the Durban-Fremantle RO-RO and Western Australia road constraints. Larger structural steelwork is shipped as 2D panels, with smaller steelwork structures shipped as fully assembled 3D modules. The shipping format can be finalised during the supply and trial erection with the customer's input.
Optional Extras
The Plant can be specified with a full range of Consulmet-supplied optional extras, including:
A water recovery circuit (degrit module and high-rate thickener)
A filter press for a dry stack tailings solution
Conveyor walkways
SCADA system
Cast in-situ foundations.
